The Job Allows

The mesh we install is locally sourced, from Australian suppliers whose product actually holds up in our climate. That matters far more than most people realise. Cheap imported mesh is thinner, it sags between the fixings within a season and the coating gives up after a couple of hot summers. Where the job allows we use Colorbond, colour matched to your roof so the guard sits in the line of the gutter instead of standing out as a grey stripe. Good aluminium mesh holds its shape, resists corrosion and keeps doing its job for years. We would rather quote a fair price once than come back and redo someone else’s bargain.

Nothing Nesting
Under Your Panels

The gap between a solar panel and the roof is prime real estate for pigeons, possums and rats. Once they move in you get noise, mess, droppings down the tiles and chewed cabling that can put the whole system out. We clip a mesh skirt around the full perimeter of the array, fixed to the panel frame rather than drilled through your roof. It keeps the wildlife out and stops leaves packing in underneath where you would never see them. The panels keep their airflow and the array stays clean.

Standard Guard

Aluminium mesh with an aperture sized to block leaves, twigs and gum nuts while still letting water through at full flow. It is the right choice for most suburban homes, where the job is simply keeping the gutters clear and the downpipes running.

Ember Guard

A much tighter woven mesh built for bushfire prone areas. Most homes lost in a bushfire are not taken by the fire front itself, they are taken by embers landing well ahead of it, and a gutter packed with dry leaf litter is exactly what those embers are looking for. Fine mesh keeps the litter out and stops embers dropping in. If you back onto bush or sit under the Illawarra escarpment, this is the one to ask us about.
