HOW MUCH DOES A QUOTE COST?
Nothing. Quotes are free and there is no obligation to book us afterwards. If we come out to look at the job, that visit is free too.
WHICH AREAS DO YOU COVER?
We are based in the Illawarra and work across Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama and the surrounding suburbs. If you are just outside that, ask anyway and we will tell you honestly whether we can get to you.
ARE YOU INSURED?
Yes. We carry public liability insurance and every job is covered by it. Details of the policy are available on request.
HOW DO I GET A PRICE?
Fill in the quote form on this website with the service you need, roughly where the property is and a bit about the job. Photos help a lot and often mean we can price it without coming out at all.
DO I NEED TO BE HOME WHEN YOU COME?
For most jobs, no. We just need gates unlocked, pets inside, cars moved off anything we are cleaning and access to a tap and power point where the work needs them.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD GUTTERS BE CLEANED?
Once a year is the usual answer, and twice for a house sitting under gums or other heavy shedding trees. If your gutters overflow in a downpour or you can see plants growing in them, they are overdue.
Fitting a guard is what breaks the cycle. Once the mesh is on, the debris sits on top and blows off instead of packing into the gutter.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A STANDARD GUARD AND AN EMBER GUARD?
The mesh. A standard guard blocks leaves, twigs and gum nuts while letting water through at full flow, and it suits most suburban homes.
An ember guard uses a much finer weave designed for bushfire prone areas, so burning debris cannot drop into a gutter full of dry leaf litter. If you back onto bush, ask us about it when you request your quote.
CAN YOU PUT MESH AROUND MY SOLAR PANELS?
Yes. We clip a mesh skirt around the perimeter of the array, fixed to the panel frame rather than drilled through your roof, so birds and possums cannot nest underneath and leaves cannot pack in where you would never see them.
WILL PRESSURE WASHING DAMAGE MY PAVERS OR RENDER?
Not when the pressure is matched to the surface. Blasting pavers at full noise strips the joint sand and leaves them loose, and forcing water at render can push it behind the surface. We adjust the pressure and the nozzle to suit what we are cleaning.
WILL MY DRIVEWAY COME UP LIKE NEW?
Usually the difference is dramatic. Some marks are in the surface rather than on it, though. Oil that has soaked in over years, etched concrete and rust staining will improve without necessarily going back to new, and we will tell you that before you commit rather than afterwards.
DO YOU DO ONE OFF LAWN MOWING OR ONLY REGULAR ROUNDS?
Both. Some people want a fortnightly round, some want a one off tidy up before an inspection or a sale, and some want a full reset on a place that has been left for months and then a regular visit after that.
DO YOU TAKE THE GREEN WASTE AWAY?
Yes, we clear up and take the waste with us. Rubbish removal is also a service on its own if you have green waste, old furniture or general junk that needs to disappear.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU DO BESIDES THE THREE MAIN SERVICES?
Decks, small construction, rubbish removal and general property maintenance. The list keeps growing, so if there is something around the property you need done and you cannot see it here, just ask when you request your quote.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS ON THE DAY?
We move it. Ladders do not go up in strong wind and pressure washing in heavy rain wastes your money. If the forecast turns we will contact you and book the next suitable day.
WHEN AND HOW DO I PAY?
Payment is due when the work is finished and we give you an invoice for every job. Larger jobs that need materials ordered in may need a deposit, and if so the amount is written into the quote before you accept it.

Tell us. Email alex@awallpropertymaintenance.com.au with what the problem is and a photo if you can. If it is something we got wrong, we come back and put it right at no charge.
